For the past 4-5 years, I have been on a journey to develop a comprehensive set of portfolio programs and strategies that fit my worldview and also reflect what I believe the likely probabilities are for the coming decade. I’ve often said this coming decade represents a great opportunity but also serious risk. How do we capture that in a portfolio?
Quite simply, one ingredient at a time. I have put together an all-star team of portfolio managers and strategists, working deeply into my own contact list to broaden the potential investment targets, while at the same time trying to avoid the problems that come with being either too big or too small. I think I’ve done it. Or more correctly I should say we have done it. (Well, at least to my satisfaction. You will have to make your own assessment.)
The bond market is a broken asset class. However, there are alternatives such as well collateralized short-term private credit yielding in the mid to high single digits. There are more opportunities if you are an accredited investor (worth more than $1 million) and there are opportunities for smaller investors as well. I like high dividend stocks and trading strategies as a complement to short-term private credit and together they provide diversification with the return-to-risk characteristics bonds used to provide portfolios when yields were much higher. We are playing an entirely different game.
We ask that you provide some basic information in the following form. Once you hit submit, the “What’s in Your (Investment) Kitchen” report will appear on your screen along with a link to a short video I did with my partners Steve Blumenthal and Kevin Malone titled, “Investing When 60/40 is Broken.” I hope you find it informative. Please know that the privacy of your personal information is of utmost importance to me/us as I know it is to you. Also, if you feel inclined, please feel free to leave me a short note.
Thank you for your interest.
Your looking forward to you seeing what’s in my investment kitchen analyst,
John Mauldin
